For nearly 30 years, military life has shaped Christy Morgan's family in meaningful ways. As the wife of a retired Naval
officer who now serves as a professor at USNA, the mother of a Naval officer, and a longtime supporter of countless Naval Academy midshipmen, Christy has experienced firsthand the challenges, traditions, and joys of military life. Both her husband and oldest son earned their commissions through Vanderbilt University's Naval ROTC program before serving as submarine officers. Today, her husband is a civilian faculty member at the U.S. Naval Academy, while their son is currently stationed in Connecticut and soon will be on to Hawaii for his permanent duty station. For more than two decades, the Morgan family has called Annapolis home, where Christy and her husband are raising their four children while embracing the unique rhythms and traditions of military life. During that time, they've had the privilege of sponsoring countless Naval Academy midshipmen, welcoming them into their home for meals, holidays, and the everyday moments that make Annapolis feel like more than just a college town. Watching these remarkable young adults grow in confidence, character, and leadership is one of the greatest joys of living in Annapolis, giving Christy a deep appreciation for the encouragement and support that can make all the difference during a student's journey at USNA. Naptown Hugs from Home was born from Christy's desire to encourage those who choose to serve our country, many of whom are doing so far from the people who miss them most. After years of supporting young adults pursuing lives of service — and later watching her own oldest child leave for college and experience the challenges of being away from family — she recognized just how meaningful a thoughtful package can be. What began as a long-held dream has grown into a business dedicated to helping families and friends stay connected to the future military officers they love. Today, every package Christy sends is inspired by the experiences that shaped her own family. Whether it's a plebe navigating a demanding first year, a midshipman preparing for finals, or a future officer celebrating an important milestone, her hope is the same: that each delivery reminds these young adults that they are loved and supported, because no matter how far away they are, home is never out of reach. |
